Sushi Mania is a newer sushi joint on Main and 21st Ave. The place is pretty small and it felt a bit sparsely furnished but still comfortable.
We started with a Tuna and Avocado Salad. Nothing extraordinary but it was tasty and gets the job done.
They also offer a dinner special where you choose 3 items from a list and you also get miso soup (not pictured here) for $11.95! You can choose from a few basic rolls, hot items and appetizer sashimi options. We had the Gomaae as one of our items. It was not the best I’ve had but passable. I think my favourite gomaae place is from Applause Japanese Restaurant.
Excuse the awkward photo! We were running out of room at our small table. Our other two items were the Alaska roll and 4pcs of salmon sashimi. The roll was pretty good with not much rice and the sashimi seemed fresh.
Lastly we had a special roll. I think this was called the Big Bang Roll but I can’t quite remember and they don’t seem to have a website. The roll was topped with lightly seared tuna to give it a bit of a smoky flavour and dthen topped with mayo, okonomiyaki sauce and green onions. I forgot what was inside though…maybe it was just like a California roll?
We were satisfied with our meal here and the prices are pretty cheap! In line with Dream Sushi down the block too. I wouldn’t mind coming back for some cheap sushi! They really need more images on their menu though.
