Specialty Chicken and Wonton House is located in the same plaza as Price Smart on No. 3 Road. Their previous location was closer to the Price Smart end but they have moved to the White Spot end a while ago. Most of the dinner items are around $12-15 so it’s pretty budget friendly for dinner. If you order more than 2 dishes, you get complimentary soup and rice! I didn’t take a picture of the soup though. It tasted quite watered down and mostly salty with not much flavour going on. It was free though so can’t have high expectations. On the other hand, I have had free soup that did taste much better…
This was the Braised Beef Brisket with bean curd and some siu choy on the bottom. The meat was tender but I thought maybe the sauce could be a bit thicker?
This was the Honey Garlic Pork Chop. It had a really addictive honey garlic sauce and I can eat this all day! It’s also better than getting the spare ribs because this has less bones.
For our veggie dish, we had some Bok Choy with stir fried beef. Pretty typical dish.
Next up we had some Deep Fried Fish Filet with garlic chips. The batter was pretty light and the fish was moist and flaky. It was also not overly salty either. Can’t go wrong with fried stuff hehe They could’ve coated the fish better with the garlic mixture though since most of it ended up on the bottom of the plate.
Since we are at a specialty chicken house we had to get chicken! Not quite sure what this is called but it’s baked with salt and served warm instead of cold like the Empress chicken. It also came with two dishes of ginger and green onion dip which is more generous than usual. The chicken was really smooth and soft plus the saltiness made it tasty too.
For dessert we had green bean soup (not pictured). The food was pretty good for the price and portions! It’s nothing fancy but I would come back for a casual family dinner that won’t break the bank.
