My friend and I were meeting up downtown and I saw on Faubourg’s Instagram that they had a cute monthly dessert called Beverly the Beaver! I was pretty sold after I saw that so we proceeded to go!
We decided to share two desserts. The first one we chose was the Tiramisu which is a classic. We found their variation rather bland and lacking in espresso flavour. My friend who doesn’t even like coffee flavours much could barely detect any… Besides that, the lady fingers on the side were really dry and didn’t go well with the smooth texture of the cake. Well I’m not sure if they were lady fingers but it was some kind of soft cookie. It was a very light dessert though.
This was the monthly dessert for March. It’s adorable right? Beverly the Beaver is an apple and maple mousse cake with a pecan dacquoise. I liked this more than the Tiramisu due to the sweet flavour from the soft apples and the occasional crunch from the pecans. However, it just looked better than it tasted.
Their lemon tarts and croissants are really good though! The cakes we tried this time just missed the mark.
