Parklane Restaurant

Parklane Restaurant is a Chiu Chow style restaurant located next to London Drugs on No. 3 and Westminster highway. The other Chinese restaurant beside London Drugs is Empire Restaurant (which is a bit more expensive I believe) so don’t get them confused.

I like how it’s on the second floor and they have big windows that let lots of light come in! You also get a view of Kirin across the street and Richmond Centre. My parents were actually very late meeting my brother and I because they decided to do some last minute shopping…

Parklane Restaurant This was the Braised Dried Seafood Thick Soup. We didn’t find it to have much seafood and we would have preferred our usual crab meat and fish maw soup.

This was Pan Fried Sole with Vegetables. A bit oily but the fish was very smooth and hard to screw up!

As a lover of sweet and sour things, I really enjoyed the Pan Fried Scallops and Prawns in Plum Sauce. The scallops and prawns were coated in a crispy batter and the prawns were nice and bouncy. They could’ve centered the food on the plate properly though!

Obviously I was doing all the ordering here so I also decided to get the Sweet and Sour Pork. This was a bad idea because it was so bony and not worth it at all!!! I just can’t get enough of sweet and sour food but just don’t get this at a Chiu Chow style restaurant.

I saved the best dish for last! This was half an order of Chiu Chow Marinated Duck! The duck sits on a bed of marinated tofu as well. The duck was well marinated but not too salty and not too fatty either! There was a lot of meat! We were very pleased with this dish.

I thought the service and décor of the restaurant was nicer than average too. Not fancy but nice.
