I finally made it to a Beta5 Ice Cream social last month! I’ve blogged about their delicious ice cream sandwiches and cream puffs before but this was my first time at their ice cream social. They have them in the summer on Fridays from 5-9pm and on Saturdays from 1-5pm. Due to their popularity, they sell out much earlier though!
The ice cream sundae they had was Bubble Tea themed sundae that week. You can order a single scoop of ice cream (milk tea)/sorbet (shiro plum) or a double scoop. The scoops are also available in a bowl or in a cream puff shell.
Doesn’t this look heavenly? Here we have a scoop of milk tea ice cream, a scoop of shiro plum sorbet, condensed milk chantilly, bubble tea pearls, honey roasted plum and two pieces of toasted Japanese milk bread with butter and condensed milk. They make their own bread and ice cream in-house too!!!
I love bubble tea so this fully met my expectations and the milk tea flavour was on point! I’m on the hunt for other places that serve milk tea flavoured ice cream now!!! The tart flavour of the shiro plum sorbet balanced out the sundae and the bubble tea pearls added some chewy textures. The Japanese milk bread tasted exactly as described and I love that it was warm with just the right amount of sweetness from the condensed milk.
I wish I could’ve gone to another ice cream social but they end next weekend… so I probably won’t be able to make it. Some other sundae themes they’ve had before include matcha, black sesame and carrot cake. If you like ice cream you should definitely check them out next summer!
