Cookies By George is located on the lower level of Royal Centre. I had never really been through Royal Centre before I started working downtown but I’m so glad I discovered Cookies By George!
They have a great variety of cookies (e.g. reverse almond chocolate chunk, chewy ginger, macadamia nut chocolate chunk etc.) and they’re always freshly baked. The cookies are also available as gifts in gift boxes or tins. Food gifts are the best gifts!
This was the Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk with a light coffee flavour and with white chocolate in the middle. It kind of reminds me of a smaller version of Blue Chip Cookies at UBC. I used to treat myself to those a lot! Or as much as possible on my limited income at the time.
This was the Chocolate Pecan Shortbread cookie. It was buttery and chocolatey! The crunch from the whole piece of pecan was appreciated.
Last but not least, I tried the Oatmeal Raisin. Might be sweeter than other oatmeal raisin cookies but it was fine for me and my sweet tooth.
No idea who George is but the cookies are always warm and I love how the centre of the cookie usually has a large piece of gooey melted chocolate! It’s like a warm hug in the form of a cookie. They’re a good sized snack for $1.75 each.
