After our juice tasting at Commodity Juicery, we decided to head to Pizza Carano for real food! I’ve read some good reviews and it was only a block away. We were there around 6pm and no one was there but us. It was also a Tuesday evening so that could explain it.
The interior is dimly lit and there’s a long bar-height communal table in the middle and a few seats along the front and side of the restaurant. The menu is written on large mirrors on one wall but paper menus are also available.
The spicy coconut kale pizza seemed innovative but we went with the Sausage and Roasted Fennel Pizza which came with white sauce, sausage, roasted fennel, fior di latte and arugula. The flavours were good and the sausage was not too salty but our biggest gripe was that the pizza was actually TOO THIN. I love thin crust pizza, don’t get me wrong but this was like pizza that belonged in Paper Mario… It was like we weren’t even eating anything because the bottom of the pizza was so thin it was practically non-existent. I’m sure this probably doesn’t happen all the time since the reviews are great but that really dampened our experience here.
The service was really friendly though.
