I went skating and then dropped by Richmond Centre afterwards. I noticed there was a new Mr. Pretzels stand outside La Senza where Kernels used to be. It was really busy and the staff were trying their best to keep up with the demand. Of course I had to join the line too. It was a short line and moved quickly.
Each pretzel is $3.75 so it’s an affordable snack to have while shopping.
Sweet flavours include: sugar & cinnamon, caramel, nutella
Savoury flavours include: salted, neapolitan, parmesan, sesame and also a hot dog option
You can see them rolling the dough out and they are working really fast! However, the bottleneck is how fast they can bake them since they only have 1 oven and the small space is already filled with 6 workers.
We ordered the Hot Dog in Neapolitan flavour. It seems to be a spice blend? Either way it tasted pretty good! The sausage is wrapped in pretzel pastry and then baked. Afterwards it is dipped in melted butter and coated with the topping of your choice. A delicious savoury snack!
We also had a regular Soft Pretzel with Parmesan. The dough is really soft but still a bit chewy at the same time and I enjoyed the salty flavour from the parmesan.
I think I will be back for more pretzels! There aren’t many other places that offer soft pretzels that I know of so Mr. Pretzels will get all the pretzel business. I remember getting Auntie Anne’s Pretzels when I went to the states before and that was probably the only place I’ve ever had pretzels.
