My friends and I were in need of something to do for Easter Weekend and someone brought up Pizzeria Ludica. I’ve been there before but never blogged about it. They are known for their extensive board game selection. We are talking about hundreds of games!
They are located right outside Stadium-Chinatown Station, beside T&T. On the day we went, they were having plumbing issues and had to close early (hence the plumbing truck outside). I remembered that their pizza wasn’t so great before so I had low expectations.
The wall of board games!
The pizza menu is extensive as well and each pizza is 12″. Here we have the Cheesy Spinach and Artichoke Pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, spinach, artichokes, roasted garlic, and parmesan. The reason I’m not a fan of their pizza is that the crust is a bit too thin and it doesn’t have that chewiness to it. The flavours for this was one alright.
The Pulled Pork Pizza lacked pork and it really didn’t have much flavour to it which is sad because I love pulled pork.
This was on their daily special menu and it was called the Splendor. This was my favourite pizza of the bunch as it had proscuitto and some sweet tasting sauce on it.
Lastly we had the Four Cheese Pizza which just looks really sad… It had mozzarella, feta, parmesan, and asiago cheese but it tasted bland and boring. I was expecting that ooey gooey cheese on it and it didn’t happen either.
Lastly, one of my friends ordered the Pesto Pasta with Chicken. I think it tasted better than the pizzas.
The staff at Pizzeria Ludica are very knowledgeable about their games. If there’s a new game that you want to try, feel free to ask them to teach you! We learned this game called Code Name.
The good thing about this place is that you’ll be entertained if you like board games. The food is secondary. Since everyone shares pizzas, the cost per person is pretty cheap! Most pizzas are $15-16. Honestly I think pizza from Megabite is better but you’re here for the games and the good company. There aren’t many other places in Vancouver that have board games. If you have a large group, be sure to make a reservation.
