Yayoi-Japanese Teishoku

Yayoi serves up Japanese Teishoku (set meals) within The Galeries shopping centre on the second floor. Yayoi has over 250 locations in Japan! It must be good right?

I like how you can see people eating while you wait. There was quite a line up outside and we waited for about 20-30mins. As a Vancouverite, I found the pricing to be on the steep side, even keeping in mind that tax is included and tips aren’t necessary.Yayoi Sydney

I had the Oyako Don which comes with miso soup and a side of pickled vegetables. There was an even coating of egg/sauce over tender chicken pieces on a bed of rice. Taste wise it was excellent. It was approximately $15.50. This was not one of the teishoku sets.

Sorry the lighting was really weird here! The Miso Pork Loin Katsu Teishoku came with miso soup, rice, a poached egg (or 63 degree sous vide egg?) along with some tofu an pickled vegetables. The pork had the perfect crispy batter on it and was super tender! The miso sauce was delicious and made me want more rice to go with it. This was $19.80.

I was pleased with the quality of food from Yayoi but I’m sure there are cheaper options in Sydney as well. i saw on Zomato that I wasn’t the only one who thought it as pricey.
