I wish we had more cafes that served brunch like this in Vancouver! And I mean all day everyday! Le Monde is a quick walk from Central Station in the Surry Hills area. Their matcha hotcakes are very insta-worthy!
We didn’t want to wait for a table so we sat at this small “bar” area at the front of the cafe.
Started off with a Flat White, they have these at every cafe in Sydney. It’s like a smoother, foamier latte. And yes, that is Jamie Oliver creeping me on that magazine.
The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict did not come on an English Muffin here. It was served with smashed avocado on a slice of toasted sourdough instead. Still delicious though!
I had to get the Matcha Hotcakes which came with mascarpone cream, fresh fruits, toasted granola and coconut espresso. Get in my belly! This was basically dessert! The hotcakes actually had a very strong matcha flavour and the fruits make it healthy right? The coconut espresso syrup also added an interesting flavour and sweetness to the dish. I didn’t really need the syrup though because the hotcakes were already great on their own!
Look how fluffy it is! Can someone please re-create this here?
