The new location of Nero Belgian Waffle Bar opened up a while back and I finally checked it out. I no longer need to trek to the West End to get my waffle fix! The new location is on the corner of Seymour and Nelson and it’s a lot more spacious aka less waiting! This Nero’s felt more cozy with the red brick-coloured walls and chair cushions; and the dim lighting. They have some snug looking window booth seats and also patio seating as well.
The menu looks about the same to me with both sweet and savoury options available. I want to try the savoury waffles but my sweet tooth always wins. They also serve beer and wine here.
My friend and I came after an early dinner at Earl’s Test Kitchen (their happy hour is great!) and there was no line up at all. We shared the Mocha on a Liege Waffle. It comes with vanilla ice cream, espresso infused whipped cream and dark chocolate drizzle. Every bite was delicious and I kinda wished I didn’t have to share! The freshly made waffle was soft and fluffy and it felt like an indulgent treat without being too heavy.
I’m glad they finally expanded!
