For Valentine’s Day this year, Bondi Pizza was having a special deal where you can order any 2 pizzas, pastas, or salads for $49.90 and you also get a chocolate fondue as well. With the deal, the fondue is basically free since most dishes there are around $25. The restaurant is located on Church street amidst a bunch of other restaurants. My boyfriend has been to Bondi Pizza a few times so I was interested in trying it. Also, I signed up for their rewards program so you can get a free pizza for your birthday! I love birthday freebies. :)
Their menu is pretty extensive and we decided to share 1 pizza and 1 pasta. For the pizza, I decided on the Marinated Chargrilled Lamb Pizza. The pizzas here are thin crust American style pizzas. This one had lamb, feta, balsamic onions, tomatoes, rocket, sweet potato crisps and Caesar sauce. The lamb was very tender and not overcooked. Since the pizza was so thin, it didn’t feel that heavy as you were eating it and the toppings really shone through.
For the pasta, we had the Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Linguini. The portion was reasonable and featured many chicken breast chunks. The sauce was indeed creamy with bacon pieces sprinkled on top of the pasta.
Service was slower than I expected but it was a holiday so maybe that’s why? We waited quite a while to get our Belgian Chocolate Fruit Fondue. The fondue came with sliced strawberries, bananas and vanilla marshmallows for dipping. The warm milk chocolate was quite sweet but it was fun dipping things in it.
They had frozen cocktails on special so we ordered the Strawberry Frose to share. It sounded delicious but the slushy cocktail was underwhelming. It didn’t taste like it had that much alcohol it in or strawberry flavour. Also it was on the icier side so it was hard to drink. I wouldn’t recommend it. When we got the bill it didn’t look like they charged us full price for the drink? It was suppose to be $10.95 but we only paid $3 for it… not complaining though!
Overall I had a good experience at Bondi Pizza despite the slow service (I’m impatient). The pizza was good but on the pricier side so I’d come back if they had other specials. Looking forward to that free birthday pizza!
