Gami Chicken and Beer has recently opened up at Central Park mall. The restaurant had a refreshing blue themed shipping container inspired interior. It’s located on the lower level of the mall where Doughnut Time used to be and it’s quite spacious in there. I love Korean fried chicken or any fried chicken in general!
We started off by ordering the Seafood Pancake. I’ve definitely had better. This one just didn’t seem like it had many ingredients and lacked the crispiness I was looking for.
We also had the Spicy Rice Cakes which came with some slices of fish cake and instant noodles on the bottom. There weren’t actually that many pieces of rice cake but flavour wise it was alright. There’s also the option to add cheese to it for $2.
The star of the show was definitely the Korean Fried Chicken! We ordered the Flavoured Whole Chicken which is a whole chicken cut into 17 pieces and you can choose 2 flavours. We chose sweet chilli and soy garlic. The chicken had a crispy exterior coated with sauce and the interior wasn’t dry. It also came with a small cabbage coleslaw which had ketchup and some sort of mayo drizzled over it. I thought it was interesting that they used ketchup on it and it gave it an interesting tanginess.
In conclusion, the chicken was good but the side dishes weren’t amazing.
