Fika is a new cafe in the Chippendale area next to Central Park Mall. The cafe space is really pretty with tons of colourful flowers near the entrance when you walk in. The flowers really set the mood for this cafe! The walls are a bluish grey hue and there are floor to ceiling windows which provide a lot of light. I’ve never been to their original location before but I’ve seen plenty of photos of their matcha/black sesame Totoro swiss roll and chiffon cakes! These are also available at Fika as well.
I decided to go for the Crab Omelette Croissant with Spicy Mayo and my dish arrived quickly.
There were ample amounts of spicy mayo sauce surrounding the plate and the crab omelette was garnished with edible flowers, radish slices and chilies. I am a fan of spicy mayo so I enjoyed the flavour it added to the omelette. There really wasn’t that much crab in it though. The croissant itself was buttery and flaky. If you’re not that into spicy mayo there might be too much for you here but at least they put it on the side.
I thought my dish was fairly simple but tasty. At the same time, it didn’t seem like it was overly complex to make either. Nonetheless, it’s a lovely little cafe to hang out in.
