Glowbal-$12 Benny’s Worth It?

While looking for a brunch spot that takes reservations and didn’t have line ups, I thought of Glowbal and their $12 benny promotion. I’ve been meaning to try them since it sounded like a great deal. I’m all about the cheap eats!

It was a warm day so we opted to sit on the patio. There are 3 benny’s that you can choose from: Original, West Coast or Florentine. They also have other brunch items if you don’t feel like having a benny.

Glowbal Mini Donuts

Before we got our meal started, they brought over some complimentary Mini Donuts! They were not fresh out of the fryer hot but still nice and fluffy. In addition, we received a small shot of a smoothie sample.

Glowbal $12 Bennys

Two of us had the West Coast (rock shrimp & roasted peppers poached eggs, hollandaise, potato hash) and one of us had the Florentine (spaghetti squash, sundried tomatoes poached eggs, hollandaise, potato hash).

I had the West Coast and I enjoyed the flavours from the roasted peppers. The shrimp was not the fresh kind, a little too soft but it was fine for me considering it was $12. The eggs were medium poached and the potatoes were nice and crispy. The sauce from the roasted peppers made the English muffin a bit soggy though. My salad was also slightly wilted and lacked dressing. I brought this to the attention of the server and he brought me a new side salad with additional veggies and lots of dressing. Wow such good service!

I tried a bit of the Florentine and it was alright, nothing special. Looks like they tried to do something different by having spaghetti squash instead of spinach.

I’m not raving about Glowbal’s brunch but for $12 and the service + mini donuts + nice ambiance, I wouldn’t mind coming back.
