I haven’t been to the Aberdeen food court in a long time and it’s as busy as ever! I was craving some Chinese comfort food because it’s bulking season and I have my eyes set on carbs!
This time I hit up Leung Kee which offers great HK style food for a great price! They offer all the classic HK style cafe dishes that you can think of. The line here was almost as long as Bubble Waffle Cafe.

My aunt was visiting from China so we all went for a family dinner at Shi-Art. It’s located inside Richmond Centre next to Tim Horton’s. It’s easily accessible by public transit and there’s plenty of parking. The restaurant has been around for a long time but I’ve only been once when I was quite young so it’s basically like my first time here.
I didn’t get to see the menu before I arrived. We started with my favourite/most-ordered soup, Crab Meat and Fish Maw Soup. I was lucky enough to get some large chunks of crab in mine!

I’ve made multiple visits to Dinesty so I thought it was time to update my post. This was the culmination of two visits to the Aberdeen location. Dinesty is located on the second floor near Chef Hung and Guu. They have expanded again this year and now have a location near Metrotown as well.
Pictured above are the Shredded Pork in Hoisin Sauce with Pancakes and the Drunken Chicken. The pork is saucy but tasty and it’s always fun to make your own pancake wraps. The drunken chicken is served chilled and the portion is not that big but there’s plenty of wine flavour. Continue reading →
Dragon Group Seafood Restaurant has taken over the spot where South Ocean used to be. I remember I used to go to South Ocean quite a bit when I was younger. The restaurant has been re-decorated to give it a more high end feel.
First off, we had the Pan Fried Rice Rolls. We found the portion to be smaller in comparison with some other restaurants but the taste and texture was good. Continue reading →
Yuan’s Shanghai Serendipity Cuisine is a fairly new Shanghainese restaurant in Richmond. Located on Browngate road behind Aberdeen, it’s convenient to get to if you take public transit. They also have a parking lot beside the restaurant too or you can park at Aberdeen and sneak over like us.
We didn’t have a reservation so we walked in around 7pm and the manager spent several long minutes debating how to fit us in but he did give us a table! I was also glad that he spoke Cantonese as well because I tried to ask for a table in my terrible broken Mandarin so I was relieved I didn’t have to continue that.
The restaurant looks very classy and high-end inside! I love how all their chairs are blue. It’s very eye-catching and also my favourite colour. They really put a lot of effort into the decor. Price-wise, it wasn’t as steep as we thought too. Their entire menu (which is extensive) is available on Zomato and it includes photos of each item.

Disclaimer: All food was complimentary but opinions are my own
I was invited to another Chinese Bites event and this time we hit up Candy Tree Dessert. They are located on Kingsway near Patterson and close to the Patterson skytrain station. I knew they would offer similar desserts to Icy Bar so I was ready to embrace everything! My dessert stomach is always ready.
We were separated into 3 different tables and each table ordered their own items but I still took pictures of stuff from other tables. This place is pretty small so it’s probably best for small groups since the waits are going to be really long.
On the left we have the Durian Milkshake and on the right we have the Ferrero Rocher Milkshake. Heard good things about both! Continue reading →
I visited Big Chef Restaurant three years ago with my family and I was here again for another family dinner. My aunt likes this place so she suggested we come here and she picked all the food. Big Chef also does hot pot but we were here just for their regular menu items. They are located in Venezia Plaza on Alexandra Road (downstairs of where Deer Garden is).
First we have the Salt Baked Chicken. Every bite had salty flavour and the chicken wasn’t dry but it wasn’t silky either. I don’t think it’s suppose to be though since it’s baked? Continue reading →
