Mr. Pretzels-Richmond Centre

I went skating and then dropped by Richmond Centre afterwards. I noticed there was a new Mr. Pretzels stand outside La Senza where Kernels used to be. It was really busy and the staff were trying their best to keep up with the demand. Of course I had to join the line too. It was a short line and moved quickly.

El Dorado Pie & Treats-Lonsdale Quay

I hardly ever go to North Van or Lonsdale Quay so I couldn’t quite remember what they had in the food court there. I actually wanted to go to The Coffee Bun Bakery but they are closed on Sundays so I wandered around and El Dorado Pie & Treats caught my eye. It was either that or crepes. You know I have a sweet tooth!

H-Mart: Sushi & Roll

I like to walk around a lot on my lunch breaks and this time I found myself wandering into H-Mart because I remembered they had a food court up there. I’ve only been there once and it was quite a while ago. It was busy during lunch hours and there were almost no seats. The first stall was Sushi & Roll, which offered pre-made sushi as well as kimbap (the Korean version of sushi).

Caliburger-Another Fast Food Option

Disclaimer: All food was complimentary but opinions are my own

My beauty blogger friend Carmen (Curiously Carmen) invited me to be her plus one to the Caliburger media tasting earlier this month. I had actually never heard of Caliburger before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. They are located on Thurlow and Robson in the same small complex as Guu. This is their second location in Canada.

Chachi’s-Sandwich Mania!

Disclaimer: All food was complimentary but opinions are my own

Sherman (Sherman’s Food Adventures) was organizing a tasting for Chachi’s at Metrotown and kindly invited me to come along. =)

Chachi's Metrotown

Chachi’s is a chain restaurant from Calgary and the Metrotown location is their first location in BC. They are located in the food court and the sandwiches are better than expected considering that they’re in the food court! Keep reading to find out which ones were my favourite! Continue reading →

Frites Granville-Not Your Usual Fries

I know most people have fries as a side to their meal but for me, I like to have the fries as the main course. I saw that Frites Granville had an exciting selection of gourmet fries so I had to check it out.

Frites Granville

Some many appetizing options like the Pad Thai fries and Okonomi fries! It’s nice that they have pictures on the wall to help you decide (or make it harder to decide if you’re like me).  Continue reading →

International Summer Night Market 2015

Disclaimer: All food was complimentary but opinions are my own

Over the weekend I was invited by ChineseBites to the International Summer Night Market (the one near IKEA). On our way there, we almost ran over a super cute bunny as it dashed across the road! Don’t worry it survived! Okay back to the night market…

My boyfriend and I arrived around 8pm and the night market was dead compared to the other night market (the duck one). There were hardly any vendors and there weren’t that many food vendors either. It was pretty sad since this was the original night market that I used to go to but I guess the competition has gotten tough. On the bright side, this means literally no lines ups and no crowds. I also heard the food is a bit cheaper here and no entry fee either.

Prepare for lots of pictures!

L.A. Chicken: Deep Fried Goodness

I’ve heard a lot about L.A. Chicken and I finally got the chance to try it last week! I actually tried some leftover chicken before that my brother brought home and it was still delicious so I knew that the freshly deep fried chicken would be amazing. You know how much I love chicken kaarage!

The place is quite small and there are only 3 tables but we managed to snag the last one! It’s located on No. 5 road near Cambie and across from a park. It would be nice to get chicken and eat it in the park in the summer! Like a picnic where you don’t have to cook.

There was a family special for 8 pieces of chicken (mix of breast and thigh) with medium fries and gravy and 2 drinks. All for $23. Sounds like a deal to me!

L.A. Chicken

You can choose to get a mix of spicy chicken and regular chicken. This was the Spicy Chicken and the batter looks different than the regular batter. It was more crispy? It had a very mild spicy flavour. If you didn’t tell me it was spicy I might not be able to tell.

L.A. Chicken

This was the Regular Chicken. I like the regular batter more since it felt like it had more flavour or seasoning? The chicken was moist and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was so good!!!

The fries on the other hand were pretty average… it didn’t really have flavour and they were limp and not crispy. However, good thing it came with gravy because the fries dunked in gravy were perfect. The thick gravy was also seasoned well and had a strong peppery flavour to it. Ketchup was provided in packets but we didn’t end up using it.

Although we ordered 8 pieces, they actually gave us 10!!! Wow what a deal! According to my Instagram follower, they are known to give extra pieces if they feel that the pieces aren’t big enough. They seemed pretty big to me! We ended up having 2 pieces leftover so 8 pieces would’ve been perfect for us but I’m not complaining!!! I’m glad they’re far away from me or I could be there very often.
