We were going for lunch for my mom’s birthday and she was craving Mui Garden so we went to the Main Street location. It looks a bit dated inside but has that HK style diner feel to it. There are booth seats on one side of the restaurant and regular tables on the other side and some larger tables at the back.
Their lunch menu is really cheap and fairly extensive! I think their prices haven’t increased in the last few years? Everything is less than $10 and some items are like $7.95. AND a hot or cold drink is included! Read more
After my visit to Bubble Waffle Cafe Kerrisdale, my friend wanted to meet up for lunch and go to Bubble Waffle Cafe at Royal Centre. This seems to be one of their newer locations. I was looking forward to more noodle soup after my experience at their Kerrisdale location.
The cafe stall is located on the lower level of Royal Centre where the food court is. Compared to the location in Kerrisdale and Aberdeen, there are less options for the toppings here.
They come in “sets” of different proteins (e.g. fish, beef, pork etc.) and you just pick one of the sets with your choice of soup base. This probably makes it easier for them to prepare the food and maybe it helps people decide faster. Read more
Disclaimer: The noodle soup combo (noodle soup + 1 drink + bubble waffle) and takoyaki were complimentary and we paid for the chicken rice. Opinions are my own as usual.
I was invited to try Bubble Waffle Cafe when they messaged me on Instagram. Of course I was more than happy to go! Who doesn’t like bubble waffle?! Also I’ve never actually tried them before even though they have been expanding rapidly last year. The line ups are just too long and if you’ve been reading my blog, then you’ll know I hate line ups.
Their Kerrisdale location is their flagship store. It’s just a few stores down from Orange Corner. You won’t miss it with those giant sail flags! There’s even a small patio area outside which would be nice in the summer although it’s not covered so it would probably get kinda hot. Read more

720 Sweets sent me an invite to try some of their soft serve last month and even before I went, my Instagram was flooded with pictures of their fancy looking soft serve surrounded by dry ice. I love ice cream so I was super excited for this!
The store is located on Broadway and Blenheim and the interior is narrow but has about 10 seats at the front.
I finally made it to a Beta5 Ice Cream social last month! I’ve blogged about their delicious ice cream sandwiches and cream puffs before but this was my first time at their ice cream social. They have them in the summer on Fridays from 5-9pm and on Saturdays from 1-5pm. Due to their popularity, they sell out much earlier though!
On a random lunch with my dad, we ended up at Silver Tower after noticing the long line up at Cattle Cafe and we didn’t feel like waiting. Silver Tower is actually quite big and spacious.
Some sort of Malaysian fried rice with minced meat. I expected it to be a bit spicy but it was more salty from msg. However, I still enjoyed this.
The usual cold milk tea. Here they don’t charge you an extra dollar for cold drinks which is probably one of their redeeming features. Hey a dollar is a dollar right?
Fettucine with tomato sauce and sausages. There were also some mushrooms thrown in. The sauce was pretty generic stuff. You know the Asian pasta sauce that’s kinda ketchupy… it really wasn’t that great but edible and I don’t expect gourmet food here anyway.
It’s a nice place for quick cheap eats! I also like that they have a lot of booth seats.
