I’ve passed by the cozy looking Marulilu Cafe many time before and I finally went! It’s right across from the Broadway and Cambie Canada Line station. The space inside is a bit tight and you order and pay at the counter first and they will bring the food to you. You can also help yourself to some water on the counter.
Most of their menu items are less than $10, especially some of their breakfast items. They also have a wide variety of drinks like lavender lattes! Their daily dessert selection is available in their display case at the front. Continue reading →
Glowbal Grill used to be in Yaletown but now they have relocated to the new Telus Gardens building on Georgia and Seymour. I’ve never been to their old location but the new one is really fancy looking! Like somewhere you would go to impress someone. All the waitresses are wearing similar uniforms and in the dim lighting, they all looked the same!
The Rose Sangria caught my eye with pears and strawberries as well as rose wine, peach liqueur, apple juice, mint and tonic water. Continue reading →

I attended my first Zomato meetup last month at Shaughnessy Restaurant in Van Duesen Gardens. Since it was almost time for the Festival of Lights, the restaurant was already decorated with lights and I felt a lot more festive already! I didn’t really know too much about Shaughnessy Restaurant nor had I ever thought about dining there before. In fact, I feel like it’s a bit hidden away. Also, for some reason… I had the impression that it was for older people?
For my drink, I went with the Shaughnessy Lemonade. Mostly because it had the word lemonade in it. It also had rosemary infused bourbon, chartreuse, and ginger beer. Continue reading →
Campagnolo is on Main Street just before Chinatown and very close to the new Torafuku! I’ve been wanting to go to Campagnolo for a while since I had pasta cravings but when I was actually there, we ended up ordering no pasta and had risotto instead.
They give you some cheese, chili pepper flakes and some kind of herb on a side plate so that you can use it on your pizza or pasta. Continue reading →
Ask For Luigi has been one of the most talked about restaurants in town for a while and it was high time that I tried it out. They only take reservations for time slots between 5:30-6pm so we did not end up getting one. I got there around 6:20pm and was told that the wait would be about an hour and they were pretty spot on with that. The interior is pretty small I think there were only 12 tables that seat 2 or 4 people.
We shared an appetizer which was the Crispy Polenta with Taleggio Cheeseon some marinara/tomato sauce. The outside looked a bit like fried tofu covered with cheese. The outside was crispy and the inside was soft with some mild flavour from the cheese.
The special of the day was Gnocchi with Rabbit. The gnocchi was pillowy soft and slightly chewy and while the rabbit meat was tender and had that pulled meat texture.
