After having a pretty good experience at Wildebeest for Dine Out Vancouver, I decided to come back and try their brunch. I checked out their brunch menu online and I was pretty excited about it! I can brunch all day everyday.
For my one and only dine out this year, I went to Wildebeest. They’re suppose to have great food and great service! My friend and I walked over after work for our 5:30pm reservation and we were seated right away as it wasn’t busy yet. Wildebeest is offering a three course menu for $40.
Originally my friend and I were going to try Twisted Fork for brunch but we were quite turned off by the one hour wait so we headed towards Yaletown in search of another brunch option. We passed by The Flying Pig and surprisingly there was no line up! This was around 1pm. They have three locations now (Yaletown, Gastown, Mount Pleasant) so maybe their customer base is more dispersed now?
We were seated right away and served complimentary Banana Bread which was a nice surprise. The banana bread was sliced thinly and each piece was moist and full of banana flavour. Read more
Tsuki Sushi Bar had a 90% rating on Zomato so I suggested it for a Friday lunch. It’s located next to Taishoken Ramen and across from International Village. The restaurant is small but spacious enough and has high exposed ceilings.

EDIT: Ok never mind I went again the fries are still HORRIBLE and everything else is really average so it’s not exactly a brunch place.
I was looking for a brunch place to go to before watching the Avengers and the Fish Shack was relatively close so we decided to try it. The Fish Shack is owned by the Glowbal Group and it used to be some Mediterranean place that I also tried but it closed down.
It was interesting how they used pallets to decorate one side of their wall and they had a fishing theme going on which was pretty cool. There are also some TV’s for watching sports games.
